NDIS disability work is work that includes the delivery of NDIS support or services to a person with disability. State disability work is work that includes providing disability services that is carried out for the department or a funded service provider. This includes volunteers and sole traders.

Your blue or exemption card is due for renewal if there is less than four months before it expires. You can find the expiry date on the front of your card.

If you make a combined application when you already have a blue or exemption card that is not due for renewal, Blue Card Services will be unable to process the blue card component of your application and your application will be withdrawn.

When your blue or exemption card is due for renewal, you can submit a Blue card application or renewal for disability service workers form to Blue Card Services. For paid employees or business operators who hold a disability worker screening clearance, the fee is only $15. If your blue or exemption card is approved, the card issued to you will be valid for the same period as your disability worker screening clearance. This will allow you to apply to renew both cards together in future.
